In this season, the show went back to airing one new episode a week, but stayed in the hour-length format, filling up the second half-hour with episodes from previous seasons and some of the prime-time specials from the 1980s. This entire season, along with the second half of season 6, is available on Garfield and Friends: Volume 5 DVD set. Also wort h noting is tha t here, a new theme s ong was add ed that was written by J .R. Johnston an d Neil Panton. The theme wa s sung by J.R. Johns ton. This them e song was not show n internati onally, and a s a result, it does not ap pear on the DVDs (alt hough Garfi eld's q uotations are kept intact ). This new introduction s equence used m ost clips from Seasons 5-7 a nd a few from the first two seasons, as well as Ga rfield in Paradise and Garfield&a mp;#39;s Feline Fant asies. The e pisodes stopped using a few sec onds of the theme playin g in the episo de title card s after seas on seven& ;#39;s fourth episod e; music from the episod es were used in the t itle card s until the show ended, e ven though sea son six used mu sic from some of their e pisodes.详情
