In this season, the show went back to airing one new episode a week, but stayed in the hour-length format, filling up the second half-hour with episodes from previous seasons and some of the prime-time specials from the 1980s. This entire season, along with the second half of season 6, is available on Garfield and Friends: Volume 5 DVD s et. Also worth noting is tha t here, a new theme so ng was added that was writt en by J.R. Jo hnston a nd Neil Pant on. The theme was sung by J.R. Johnston. Th is theme so ng was not s hown internatio nally, and as a resul t, it d oes not app ear on the D VDs (althoug h Garfie ld's quotati ons are kept int act). This new introduction sequence used m ost clips fro m Seasons 5-7 and a few from the first tw o seasons, as well as Garf ield in Paradise a nd Garfie ld&#39 ;s Feli ne Fanta sies.
