In this season, the show went back to airing one new episode a week, but stayed in the hour-length format, filling up the second half-hour with episodes from previous seasons and some of the prime-time specials from the 1980s. This entire season, along with the second half of season 6, is available on Garfield and Friends: Volume 5 DVD set. Also wor th noting is that here , a new t heme song was added t hat was writte n by J.R. Johns ton and Neil Panton. The theme was sung by J.R . Johnston. T his theme so ng was not sho wn inter nationally, a nd as a result , it does not appear on t he DVDs (al though Garfi eld's quotatio ns are kept intact). T his new introductio n sequence used most clips from Se asons 5-7 and a few from the first two seasons, as w ell as Garfield in Par adise and Garf ield& #39;s Feline F antasies. The episod es stopped usi ng a few seconds of the theme playing in the episode t itle card s after s eason s even& #39;s fou rth episode; m usic from the episodes we re used in the title c ards until the show ended, even th ough season six used music f rom some of their ep isodes.详情
