In this season, the show went back to airing one new episode a week, but stayed in the hour-length format, filling up the second half-hour with episodes from previous seasons and some of the prime-time specials from the 1980s. This entire season, along with the second half of season 6, is available on Garfield and Friends: Volume 5 DVD s et. Als o worth noting i s that her e, a new theme song w as added t hat was writte n by J.R. J ohnston and Neil Panton. The theme w as sung by J. R. Johnston . This them e song w as not s hown inter nationally, a nd as a result, it does no t appea r on the DVDs (althou gh Garfiel d's quotations ar e kept intact ). This new int roductio n sequence used mo st clips from S easons 5-7 a nd a few fr om the f irst tw o seasons , as wel l as Garfield i n Paradise and Garfi eld&#3 9;s Feline Fan tasies. The e pisodes stop ped using a few seco nds of the theme play ing in th e episode title cards after s eason seven 's fourth episode; music from the ep isodes were used i n the title ca rds until t he show e nded, eve n though season six used mus ic from some of their episodes.详情
