In this season, the show went back to airing one new episode a week, but stayed in the hour-length format, filling up the second half-hour with episodes from previous seasons and some of the prime-time specials from the 1980s. This entire season, along with the second half of season 6, is available on Garfield and Friends: Volume 5 DVD set. Al so worth not ing is that he re, a new them e song was ad ded that wa s written by J.R. Jo hnston and Nei l Panton. The theme was su ng by J .R. Johnston . This t heme song wa s not shown i nternationa lly, and as a result, i t does no t appear on the DVDs (althoug h Garfield& ;#39;s q uotation s are kept i ntact). Th is new introduction s equence used most clips f rom Seasons 5-7 an d a few f rom the firs t two se asons, as well as Ga rfield in Parad ise and Garfi eld& #39;s Feline Fantasies.
