As "Alone" enters its fourth season, the competition series shakes things up with a new twist: the contesta nts are dropped off in a remote loc ation as pai rs. Seve n pairs of family membe rs travel to a ru gged regio n of British Columbia, where they are separ ated and drop ped off mile s apart from each other. Each player mu st navigate th e wildernes s to loc ate his or her partn er. Once reun ited, t he loved o nes have to create t heir own shelt ers and for age for their f ood whi le overcoming r ough weathe r condi tions and dead ly predators.
