In this season, the show went back to airing one new episode a week, but stayed in the hour-length format, filling up the second half-hour with episodes from previous seasons and some of the prime-time specials from the 1980s. This entire season, along with the second half of season 6, is available on Garfield and Friends: Volume 5 DVD set. Also worth noting is th at here , a new theme song was added that w as written by J.R. J ohnston and Neil Panton. The the me was sun g by J.R. Johnsto n. This t heme song w as not show n internat ionally, and a s a result, it do es not ap pear on t he DVDs ( althoug h Garfield&am p;#39;s quota tions are kept intact). This new intro duction sequenc e used m ost cli ps from Seas ons 5-7 and a few from the first tw o seasons, as well as Garfield in Paradise and Garfiel d' s Feline Fan tasies. The episodes stopp ed using a few seconds of the theme playin g in the epi sode title cards after season se ven&# 39;s fou rth episode ; music from the episod es were used i n the t itle cards until the sh ow ended, e ven though se ason six u sed musi c from som e of th eir epi sodes.详情
