As "Alone" enters its fourth season, the competition series shakes things up with a new twist: the conte stants ar e dropped off in a remote l ocation as pairs. Seven pairs of fam ily membe rs travel to a rugged regi on of B ritish C olumbia, wher e they are separate d and dropp ed off m iles apart fro m each oth er. Each player must navig ate the wild erness to loca te his or her p artner. Once reunit ed, the lov ed ones have to create th eir own s helters a nd forag e for thei r food while overco ming ro ugh weather co nditions and deadly pred ators. They hav e nothing more than th e conten ts of t heir small back packs and 10 tools split be tween them to help with their surviv al. They al so have eno ugh camera gea r to recor d their experi ences b ecause -- as in the past -- there is no came ra crew.
