As "Alone" enters its fourth season, the competition series shakes things up with a new twist: the contestan ts are dropped off in a remot e location a s pairs. Seven pairs of f amily members travel to a ru gged region of British Col umbia, wh ere they are separat ed and droppe d off miles ap art from each other. Each player must nav igate the wilderness to locate his or her partner. On ce reuni ted, the loved ones ha ve to cre ate the ir own shelters and forage fo r their food w hile overcomi ng rough weather co nditions and d eadly predators . They have no thing more th an the c ontents of their small backpac ks and 10 tools split bet ween them to h elp with the ir survival.
