Filming is underway on series four of critically acclaimed ITV1 detective drama, Grace, starring John Simm as Detective Superintendent Roy Grace and based on the best selling novels from globally renowned author, Peter James. Set in Brighton, Grace also sees returning cast members Richie Campbell (Top Boy, Stephen) as DS Glenn Branson, Zoë Tapper (Liar) as Cleo Morey, Craig Parkinson (Line of Duty) as DS Norman Potting, Laura Elphinstone (Chernobyl) as DS Bella Moy, Brad Morrison (Dinosaur) as DC Nick Nicholl and Sam Hoare (The Capture) as ACC Cassian Pewe. This series will also feature renowned TV and theatre actor, Robert Glenister (Sherwood, Hustle). Commented John Simm: “I’m so pleased to b e back on set, filming seri es four of Grac e. Vi ewing figure s for se ries three have so far averaged over 5.6m per e pisode, an increase on series t wo, with the first ep isode cons olidating at 6.7m. The first fi lm in the new series is ca lled Dea d Man’s Time. A vici ous robb ery at a sec luded Bri ghton home , draws Grace and Branson into a puzzling enqui ry when thousa nds of pound s worth of b eautiful ant iques are stolen fr om the house. As Grace digs deep er into t his mysterious crime, he unea rths a web of ancient grudge s - a web which leads him down a dark, murde rous trail t hrough the world of Brighton antiques, in a race ag ainst t he clock, t o untangle who is at the heart o f this robbery , and brin g Gavin Daly the answer s he has been d esperate ly chasing for many years. In episode two, Want You Dead, G race and Bra nson investiga te a cas e where nothi ng is truly as it first appear s. When an unid entified vict im is found d ead in cur ious cir cumstances, t he post mort em reveal s more question s than it do es answers. A s Grace works to identify th e body, hopin g this might provide some crucial c lue as to the kille r’s motive, he soon has another de ath on his han ds when a secon d victim shows up in central Brighton, di scovered in similarly b izarre circumst ances. You Ar e Dead is episode three i n which Grace and Brans on are thro wn into wh at is possibly their mos t disturb ing and hig h-profile case yet, wh en an uns ettling disco very of skeleta l remains is unearthed by work men digging u p a path in central B righton. Meanwhile, a cross t he city that same morn ing, a victim is snatched i n broad da ylight. Wit h no witnesses and no sign of who to ok her, Grace st arts to susp ect whether the victim’s fiancé is lying to the police. The f inal episode i n the ser ies is Love You Dead. When a known B righton burgl ar is found dead in his car, in gru esome circumst ances, his wif e claim s that h e had turned over a new leaf, bu t all the evidence poin ts to the fact the vi ctim may s till have been up to his old tricks and was break ing and enteri ng on t he night he was killed. As Grace and the team wo rk to hone in on the circums tances l eading to t he victim’s d eath, Roy re ceives a c all fro m a US pol ice conta ct about a cr ime abroad whi ch bears t he hallmark s of a mafi a hit. The polic e are ke en to trace a woman th ey believe to be from Br ighton, who co uld be in da nger.
