This is a very accessible film for an y audience t o enjoy- -its story and values are not merely Iranian, it& amp;#39;s univ ersal. The fil m is set in rural Iran that had not tasted petro-dollar p rosperity . The setti ng is on fringes of des ert land, w here water is scarce, rainfall sc anty and hard ly any bl ade of grass is green. Add to it wind an d dust t hat buffets and whips ma n and animal an d you can imagine pli ght of the p eople who live on t he fringes o f society. T he film is mo ving tale of a young teenager r eturning to his villa ge with a goa t--only to fin d his fami ly and villag ers have moved on to es cape nat ures vagaries a nd that o ne old man r emains.
