1934, America. The Dustbowl. A fugitive named Ben Hawkins finds refuge within a traveling carnival comprised of a tarot card reader and her catatonic/telekinetic mother, a blind mentalist, a bearded lady, and conjoined twins, amongst others. The carnival is owned by the mysterious and unseen Management, who has designs on the young Hawkins, for the boy is concealing an untapped gift: he can heal the lame and r aise the dead --at a price. Ben also finds himself dis turbed by cry ptic and prophe tic dre ams, which he shares w ith a Methodist preach er in C alifornia, Brother Justin Crowe. Brother Justin, convi nced by his dreams he is follo wing God&a mp;#39;s wil l, has b egun to prac tice his ow n extraordinar y talen ts, althoug h the preac her's plans in creasingly lead to distu rbing and t ragic cons equences. In this "las t great age of magic, " Be n Hawkins and J ustin C rowe are moving toward a g reat con flict betw een Good and Evil, alt hough it no t yet clear on which sides these men will stand.详情
